Scale
- 2 lbs chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Aleppo pepper flakes (or red pepper flakes)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, Aleppo pepper flakes, ginger, cloves, cardamom, olive oil, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined.
- Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–3 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
- Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature.
- Preheat your grill or oven:
- For grilling: Preheat to medium heat. Grill the chicken for about 6–8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20–25 minutes or until fully cooked.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to retain its juices.
