Lemon Sumac Yogurt Chicken

  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt, whole milk
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sumac
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 lemon, zest, and juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper

2-3 Chicken Breasts or (2 lbs for no leftover marinade)


  1. In a small container mix together the marinade
  2. Add half to 2-3 chicken breasts and let marinade in the fridge for 3-4 hours.
  3. Once it’s finished marinating, bring the chicken out of the fridge to come closer to room temperature for about 30 minutes
  4. Preheat a large non-stick pan or grill and cook the chicken on each side for 6-8 minutes or until fully cooked on the inside.
  5. Let it rest for about 3-5 minutes before cutting
